Glinsk Song Contest 2007
The winning entry, "Day's Gonna Come", was composed and sung by Jody Gallagher. His song received 70 points. Second place went to "You & Everything Else", receiving 69 points, composed by Ciara Newell and Cathy Newell, and sung by Neesa Newell. "Time Flies", composed and sung by Gerry Henderson, finished third, a further 5 points behind on 64 points. "Time Flies", the song that finished third, lead after the first adjudicator's scores had been added to the scoreboard. As each adjudicator's score was added to the scoreboard it became obvious that there was going be two main contenders for first place. "Love You More Tomorrow", written and performed by Fintan Ellard, didn't look like a potential winner after receiving only 20 points out of 30 from the first three adjudicators, but eventually finished fourth.
Keith McDonald entertained the audience while the adjudicators came to their decision on the finalists. The 2007 contest attracted more than 100 entries from all over Ireland. ·2007 results |
