The M7/M8 motorways preferred routes between Portlaoise - Castletown - Cullahill have just been announced .  Each motorway can accommodate 55,000 vehicles per day.  But the traffic that travels the entire journey from Dublin to Cork and Dublin to Limerick is only 1700 and 1450 vehicles per day respectively.  So where will the extra 100,000 plus vehicles per day come from?  And why is the livelihood of so many people being put at risk by building these unnecessary motorways?
