Scoil Ide is on the outskirts of Limerick city.

Limerick is the third largest city in the Republic and one of Ireland's leading tourist and business centres. With a pedigree now spanning three millennia, it has life lines stretching from Viking roots to contemporary high - tech industry. Home to "Angela's Ashes" and "the Cranberries ", it has a Royal Charter older than the City of London. Its castles ,ancient walls, Georgian houses and museums are testament to its dramatic past.It is a city which has undergone a massive transformation over the last few years in terms of its image and the amount of urban renewal..                                            

                                                                                                         

 

        Limerick is magnificently sited on the River Shannon. Features include King John's Castle, St. Mary's Cathedral, the Treaty Stone, the Hunt Museum, the Bishop's Palace, the Exchange, the Custom House and Limerick's Civic Offices. It has a rapidly growing reputation for the quality of its restaurants and now has its own " International  food  festival ".

The city is also considered by many to be the sporting capital of Ireland. It offers a wide variety of cultural pursuits.
