As you can see, the 'lean mix' is still being poured into the trenches - this should be completed in a few days, and the concrete will then follow.
Just to the front and side of the JCB, topsoil is being saved for what will become our school garden.
The foundations started to really take shape.
Monday, 27th January and work resumes on the foundations of our new school. A platform has been put into position overlooking the site allowing access to the foreman's office. It also gives us a good view - excellent for photographs!
Wednesday saw some 'shuttering' put into place. This will keep the concrete from escaping when poured later in the week, as the rest of the foundations are put in place. The 'shuttering' in the photo is being placed around what will eventually be the infants' classrooms.
On Thursday, the 'lean mix' was finished. A bitterly cold Friday arrived and the cement began to be poured on top.
To give the foundations added strength, some serious pieces of iron are added!
