- 14th November - Weeks 51 - 52
The
screen around the courtyard has now been completed - the children will enter
the school through the centre doors (shown here) and then go either left or
right to their classes. If you go straight ahead, you end up in the hall! We
are very grateful to Justin Feddis who will be landscaping the courtyard for
us - the children will enter the school through a tranquil oasis of green, soothed
by the sound of running water (thanks to Barry Hickey) and be totally ready
for a day's learning!!
Just behind the courtyard screen is the corridor that links the two sides of the school. There are nine large recessed lights being installed here.

The photo on the left is just inside the side (or visitor's) entrance and shows Sandra's office is well under constructon. The photograph on the right shows some of the fitted furniture that each classroom will have installed - this is Senior Infants.
Site offices have been moved to allow for the paving of the entrance and erection of the gates. We are promised a terrific entrance - one in keeping with the building. It certainly looks great on the plans!
Finally, work is proceeding apace and floor covering is starting to go down in some of the 'wet areas' in the classrooms.
Paving of the courtyard should begin around 14th and we should be
ready to move into our new abode at the end of the month. Yes, the date had
to be moved forward by two weeks so that it is totally safe by the time we take
up residence.
