6th - 10th January - Week 7
It seemed appropriate to include quite a number of photographs on this page. Please note that these will take a little time to download. Be patient, the wait will be worth it!

Monday, 6th January! We arrived in school to continue organising ourselves into our new school. The greatest excitement of the morning was the demolision of the Infant prefabs. They collapsed like matchwood - it seemed all so easy.
Of course, the moment had to be marked by a glass (or two) of champagne - as the children looked on and cheered! Then later on in the afternoon ...
Ready...
Steady...
GO!
Sixth disappeared in a hail of splinters and dust!
Tuesday dawned and the weather turned very, very cold - marked by the fact that the electricity in school gave up. This meant that there was no heating or lighting. However, we soldiered on - as did the builders. By the end of day 2 of this week, 4th, 5th and 6th had been totally demolished. Trucks came and went throughout the day ferrying rubble to the dump.
A quick reminder that 5th and 6th Classes will be displaying projects at the Young Scientist Exhibition in the RDS on Thursday 9th, Friday 10th and Saturday 11th of January. See you there!
