Meanwhile, Joe Sweeney (site foreman) starts laying one of the waste pipes to link into the parish system.
During the weekend, as promised, all partitions have been put in place and the classrooms are in the process of being wired up by our electricians. They will be better rooms than we have at present - certainly the toilet facilities will be a little more hygenic!

As this was happening outside in the cold, fan heaters were being installed inside - mind you, it was almost as cold here. Doors have been hung and the walls were being freshened up with a 'lick of paint'!
Wednesday saw the eviction of First Class from their room. They were reinstated in the hall which they shared quite successfully with IT. Fourth and Fifth Classes were typing their Christmas penpal letters to the children of Central School, Helena, Montana. To read more about this project, please click here. First Class, as the picture shows, is being rewired to take storage heaters. Because the power is entering from the gable end of the school, most of the work needs to be done in this classroom.
Each of the other classrooms that need rewiring - Second and Third - will probably be completed over the weekend, so keeping disruption to a minimum.
Meanwhile, in the temporary building, which will house the Infants and Fifth and Sixth Classes, toilets and washhand basins were being installed.
As it turned out, Second Class (right) moved into the hall on Friday, while their classroom (left) was wired for new heaters. Gordon and Tommy relocated shelving across the windows - the only space available!
Work is moving quite quickly and there is even hope that we may move into the temporary school next week.
